They should be refrigerated and used within 7 days or frozen in small portions for 3 months.

After preparing tuna, how long can it be safely used?
Once the tuna has been prepared it should be immediately refrigerated and used within 3 to 4 days.
We left fresh fish in the fridge for over two days. Is it still safe to cook and eat?
If you refer to my Handy Charts you will note that fresh fish can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days. If you notice an off odour I would recommend you discard the fish. Fresh fish should never have a strong fish-like odour.
While broiling salmon, 12 minutes later I realized the broiler was off. I then turned the broiler on.
Is the salmon still good to eat?
The salmon is fine to eat. If the length of time was 1 to 2 hours then I would recommend that you discard it.
How long can I store frozen fish?
Frozen fish, once bought from the supermarket, should be brought home immediately and stored in the freezer at zero degrees or lower. The fish should not be taken out of its original sealed packages. This frozen fish should be used within the specified time period. Lean fish - 6 months; Medium fat fish - 4 months; Fat fish - 2 months. Refer to my handy charts.
